By Emily Rice
There are hearts and minds between our pages,
The best piece of writing doesn’t exist, not anymore. It existed only in her mind. And once she gained the courage to write it down, it existed in physical permanence for only a moment. She couldn’t stand the sight of it on paper, so she burned it. The writing in this journal will fade and decay as nature commands it. Or if it exists on the computer, something untouchable by nature, eventually there will be no one around to read it. The best piece of writing lies in the deepest parts of our hearts and minds. The best piece of writing can’t be written.
