Christmas is just around the corner! There are tons of amazing events starting up in Vancouver for the holiday season that you can check out with family and friends. Here’s five that you should check out to bring a little extra holiday cheer to your life.
The Vancouver Christmas Market (Nov 20 - Christmas Eve) https://vancouversbestplaces.com/events-calendar/festivals-and-events/vancouver-christmas-market/
The Vancouver Christmas Market is an awesome little market in downtown Vancouver. It has tons of vendors in little cabin shaped booths (they’re super adorable) along with live music and tons of awesome food. There’s also a Käthe Wohlfahrt shop, a fancy German ornament store that’s world-famous for their beautiful Christmas ornaments. Even if you aren’t buying them, they’re amazing to look at. This arguably Vancouver’s best Christmas market and it’s definitely worth checking out.
Vandusen Garden Festival of Lights (Nov 30 - Jan 5) https://vancouversbestplaces.com/top-attractions/vandusen-gardens/festival-of-lights/
The VanDusen Garden Festival of Lights is absolutely stunning. There are millions of lights all throughout the gardens and pictures honestly can’t do it justice. There are scheduled dancing light shows every half hour, and live performances. In the midst of all the beautiful lights, there’s a carousel too. This is definitely an Instagram worthy event that you shouldn’t miss
Christmas at Burnaby Village (Nov 23 - Jan 3) https://vancouversbestplaces.com/metro-vancouver/burnaby/burnaby-village/heritage-christmas/
Burnaby Heritage Museum is adorable and every year they have a Christmas event. The beautiful old buildings there are worth checking out on their own, but it’s extra fun during the Christmas season. There’s an old schoolhouse, market, blacksmith (that is actually open for you to see things being made) and a diner. They also have a carousel. The best part of this event, it’s free! Definitely a fun event to check out.
Bright Nights at Stanley Park (Nov 28 - Jan 1) https://vancouversbestplaces.com/top-attractions/stanley-park/bright-nights/
This is another amazing light event. There are tons of beautiful Christmas lights, but this event also features the Stanley Park Miniature Train. It’s a 12-minute ride through beautiful Christmas displays. Entrance to this event is by donation to The BC Professional Firefighters Burn Fund, so you’re having fun and supporting a good cause.
Gingerbread Lane (Nov 30 - Dec 31) https://vancouversbestplaces.com/gingerbread-lane/
If you’re not into outdoor events, go check out Gingerbread Lane at the Hyatt Regency. There are loads of amazing gingerbread creations to look at, made by students, amateurs and professionals. The creativity and skill that goes into them is astonishing and makes this event worth checking out.
