Halloween is my favourite day of the year. Here are five reasons why I think it’s the best.
1. Costumes
You can dress up as whatever you want! You can express yourself however you like without being judged. It’s an opportunity to be scary, or even funny.
Even if you don’t like dressing up, you can still admire other people’s costumes. There are tons of amazing costumes to look at. Some to scare or shock you and some to make you laugh.
2. Candy
Free candy? Yes, please!
Even if you don’t trick or treat anymore, you’re sure to end up eating candy on Halloween. Plus, candy is super cheap on November 1st.
3. Haunted Houses
Haunted houses are one of my favourite parts of Halloween. They’re fun to go through with your friends and get scared alongside your favourite people.
If you’re crazy enough about Halloween, you can build a haunted house yourself. It’s a lot of work but it’s easier than you might think. I build one myself every year.
4. Horror Movies
If you don’t like being scared in real life, it can still be fun to get scared by horror movies. There is one for everyone. Some are creepy, some are scary and some are just plain cheesy.
One of my personal favourites is “It”. It’s not super scary, but it has great characters, a great plot, and amazing cinematography.
5. Fall
My last reason why Halloween is the best is that it's during fall. From cozy sweaters to leaves on the ground, fall is a wonderful season.
