HERE COMES THE GIRL

By Lucy Gill

Be warned, here comes the girl who is made of a storm

Her voice is thunder and raging showers

All the power she possesses could never be suppressed

Best to stay out of her path

She laughs and the ground shakes

Look now, here comes the girl with the sky on her brow

Her face is the moon, silver and bright

Even in a night full of stars she stands apart

Hard to miss

She’s been kissed by the universe

See, here comes the girl with the ocean at her knees

She walks like a wave, she flows and ebbs

With each step the seas come crashing down

She pulls the tides like a gown

You could drown in her beauty

It’s easy to spy her, here comes the girl with her soul set on fire

Her eyes spill lava when she cries

The skies ignite each time she speaks

Her incandescent glow is part of her mystique

She blazes forward in the unpredictable way of flames

Witness her worth, here comes the girl who carries the earth

With the continents strewn across her shoulders

Hold her in high regard

She wears valleys like scars and mountains like bruises

Few could carry her load
