Falling in your dreams can be one of the most unpleasant ways to wake up. The way your stomach plunges or how your chest tightens to the extent where it hurts to inhale, how your limbs go numb and your whole body seems to hum. Adrenaline rushing and your blood running cold. Your heart pounding at your rib cage so hard it almost feels as if it were to burst through. Trying to scream only for your throat to close up. And suddenly, your body jerks as you are harshly pulled awake. Twitching slightly, mind still foggy. It takes a moment for you to realize that you are no longer falling.
